Project management has various transferable skills. Most recently it is an important part of time scheduling, and resource management. There are various applications in HR, accounting, and financial modeling. Medicine can also benefit from project management in epidemiology and population resource management.

Traditionally, applications were in construction, infrastructure management, worker scheduling, and resource planning. Materials may need to wait until certain Earth cycles complete and some building processes could only be done during specific seasons or had a temperature requirement.

With financial modeling, resources can be business sales, tax revenues, congressional budgets, and trade in goods and services needed to sustain a geographical area. This can be refined through examination of personal budgets that do not meet the threshold for survival in a geographic area. On a micro level, income, time availability, and nearby resources can be evaluated and integrated into the human decision making process.

HR and accounting, are able to integrate project management into worker scheduling, income cycles, profit expectations, payroll requirement, and tax specifications. Wellbeing programs can also benefit from project management by scheduling production, simulating time off, and integrating training cycles into organizational requirements planning

Human living areas are rarely built out using components as needed anymore. Even if an area might not be built out right away, an area might be modeled in a 40-50 mile radius that includes housing, workplaces, ameneties, recreation, and transportation connections to other areas. Even in places that are local centric, people may have a need to get fresh air away from their friends and family.

Project management with 3D modeling of regions rather than job sites allows more thorough evaluations of projected human living areas. Simulations can help with identifying when part of a human living system may need to be expanded and which parts may need changes or respecification before the build takes place. This is done through project management by placing population growth on a time graph.

Software allows all this to happen in a much more modern pace because construction methods are much faster today, the training is shorter, and the knowledge volume is much larger. CAD can be used with custom components and many of the scheduling resource requirements is done through database queries and status reports that are easy for humans to understand. Multiyear timelines can still be generated and printed out as a wall decoration inside a planning office.
