Medicine has undergone many transformations over the years with most school requirements in professional careers veering towards a Bachelors degree or less.

This means that degrees that used to take 8-12 years to complete and their associated job training such as a residency of up to 4 years are now attainable in under 5 years total school and job training.

Updates, include 6 months of job training and supervisory evaluations that are as short as 2 to 6 weeks. This adds a new context to job roles and workplace qualifications that were not very feasible in the recent past.

Research Psychology and Mental Health Social Work are job roles that people would not consider due to time constraints, time commitment, or cost. However, these roles are becoming important part of developed nations where self actualization, confidence, and personal development are viewed as priority issues to assess and evaluate when examining individuals.

Running a statistical analysis of an areas mental health conditions, and formulating a project plan for treatment and care can be viewed as an overwhelming chore with very little guidance or procedures. There are also various legal complexities that make geographical health assessment difficult.

Computing can ease the burden of charting and comparison but there are also data parameters that are outside the normal distribution pattern. Many data points on a geographical health chart, will require individual or small group examination to make sense of the overall data.

These qualitative assessments are often best done as a Mental Health Social Worker that can communicate with and understand the affected population or individual regarding their conditions, perceptions, and the context of their human expression. The MHSW can assess, request, evaluate, and advocate for treatment, review results, make recommendations, and ask for second opinions. Subsequently, these assessments go into a data catalogue and a little more clarity can be added to an areas overall mental health assessments.
